Ex-Defense Minister’s supporters organize pickets

Participants of the protest action in support of Ismail Isakov, Ex-Defense Minister of Kyrgyzstan, are organizing pickets, Topchubek Turgunaliev, one of the opposition leaders told the news agency 24.kg.

The next session of the court on Isakov’s case will reportedly take place at 10:00 AM on February 10, while his supporters will start protest actions in Sopu-Korgon, Gulcha and Bishkek. “At least six people take part in the hunger strike in the capital and 10- in at the time. In general, about 86 Kyrgyzstanis participated in the protest from the very beginning,” Turgunaliev said.

The political protest action started on January 13. Its participants, headed by Topchubek Turgunaliev, Chairman of the Committee Against Political Persecution, demand to release the former Defense Minister Ismail Isakov and other opposition members, detained over Petrovka village and Balykchy incidents.
