Criminal charges against Alikbek Jekshenkulov, a former foreign minister are to be completed till the end of February 2010. The Pervomai court will impose a sentence after oral hearings to be held on 20 February, 2010.

Jekshenkulov was accused of complicity in the assassination of a Turkish citizen. Forensic evidence has linked a gun registered in his name to the murder of a businessman Servet Cetin, in December 2007 in Talas. Besides that, the state prosecutor’s office charged Jekshenkulov with abuse of power during his tenure as a foreign minister.

At the moment, the Court revealed witness's testimony. It was specified that some of them underwent a pressure by militia. It was also suggested that the Turkish businessman was killed due to his business activity.
