Kyrgyzstan Master’s degree students to study in SCO University on the state

Kyrgyzstan Master’s degree students probably can study in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) at the expense of the state. It was reported by InfoSCO.

According to the Web portal, the SCO University, the idea of creation of which was set forth by the President of the Russian Federation in 2007, will launch in pilot mode in September 2010.

According to the Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department under the Education and Science Ministry of the RF Larisa Efremova, Russia is ready to provide education quotas. They will be given not for the complete course of education, but by semesters.

“As the SCO University is only launching, these quotas are limited”, she clarified and noted that the most complex moment in launching the university is elaboration and agreement of a unified financing model.

Reportedly, the SCO University will unify the potentials of the leading universities of the organization’s countries in five master’s directions – ecology, nanotechnology, regional studies, power engineering and IT-technologies. The issue of opening the university will be discussed on the Education Week of the SCO member countries which will take place on April 26-27, 2010 in Moscow.
