Civil society of Kyrgyzstan: violations during Referendum don’t affect ballot

28/06-2010 09:04, Bishkek – 24.kg news agency

Violations elicited during Referendum don’t affect ballot, Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society stated after monitoring of voting process.

They said that “one thousand of observers had monitored 500 polling stations through the country”. Observers were controlled by 70 coordinators who gathered information from all regions of the republic.

“Coalition observers note that there were problems with additional lists; in some cases the number of voters in additional lists was 50 percent out of total number. There were cases of voting without any papers, human rights abuse and violations of poll process”, a message read.

However elicited violations didn’t significantly affect ballot. All recommendations and reports will be presented in annual report of Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society.
