Kyrgyzstan Parliament establishes a commission to check work of Kumtor mine

Kyrgyzstan Parliament has established a commission to check work of Kumtor mine. It was decided to include 10 deputies into the commission after long debates.

The commission will work until May 15, 2012.

MP Shirin Aitmatova noted that strike of Kumtor’s employees is going on and they are asking authorities to respond on their complaints. “They cannot wait for several months until the commission will pass a judgment. Today we have to hear the head of Kumtor’s trade union and to take measures in order to help them,” she said.

In return the Speaker Asilbek Zheenbekov noted that the core committee will be ordered to respond.
