“In Kyrgyzstan, the investigation has not found traces of snipers’ work during the April and June events,” Shamil Atakhanov, head of the country’s secret services, said at the extended session of Parliament’s several committees.

According to him, a number of statements made by the ex-officers of the State National Security Committee (GKNB) about the involvement of snipers to shooting of people were not confirmed. “According to available data, snipers were not found in the April events. As for the June events, it was established that shots were fired from the Sulaiman-Too Mountain. But they were not trained snipers,” Shamil Atakhanov said.
