Funds withdrawn from AUB safe deposit boxes are in escrow with the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan – Zair Chokoev

“Funds withdrawn from AUB safe deposit boxes are in escrow with the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan,” vice Chair of the National Bank, Zair Chokoev, said at today’s session of SDPK faction (social democrats).

According him, the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a criminal case against certain officials of the National Bank and commercial banks just after 2010 April events. Funds withdrawn from deposit boxes were corpus delicti. The operation was carried out within the investigative and operational actions. “Now all criminal cases are submitted to courts and we are waiting for end of proceedings in order to return this money to the states,” Zair Chokoev noted.

He added that $12 millions, ?635 thousand and more than KGS 2 millions are on deposit of the National Bank.
