How can smoker give remarks to smoking child?

Smoking may be hazardous to your health, everybody has heard this phrase a hundred times. But unfortunately, the warning does not work in practice. Every smoker understands that the habit negatively affects his health but craving for a cigarette wins over all fears. According to statistics, number of young smokers increases from year to year. That is why the news agency 24.kg decided to ask people about if they could make a remark to a smoking child if they are smokers.

Iskhak Masaliev, Communist fraction leader:

As an adult person I can make remark to a smoking child, but as a smoker - I can not. There were some cases in my life when I had to make remarks to children who smoked. It happens, but not often.

Yulia Ponomareva, graduate student of the Kyrgyz National University:

No I can not. How can I say to others don’t do this if I smoke? I know that it is a harmful habit but I can not get rid of it.

Vladimir Tretyakov, 45, engineer: 

I have been smoking for a long time. But it is unpleasant for me to see smoking teenagers. Once I turned to a group of teenagers with request to stop smoking and they told me where to go, saying that they would smoke where they want. And now I try not to pay attention to smoking teenagers.

Elmira Imanalieva, Vice Mayor of Bishkek: 

Yes, I smoke but it does not hinder me from making remarks to smoking teenagers. My words about harmfulness of smoking confuse many young people and they move aside at least.

Kabai Karabekov, Parliament Member:

According to the Kyrgyz legislation it is banned to sell cigarettes and alcohol to the underage. That is why I have a right to make remarks to smoking teenagers. I myself try to smoke as less as possible. When I turn to such children, they throw cigarettes away as they, probably, feel embarrassed.

Liliana Fadeeva, Assistant Chief of the October district administration of Bishkek: 

It is embarrassing for me to make strict remarks to smoking youth, as I am a smoker and can not be a good example for them. 

Charlotte Urbain-Karimova, Attaché for Cooperation and Culture of the French Embassy in Kyrgyzstan:

I smoke but occasionally. It is embarrassing for me to make remarks to smoking children. May be, because I am a guest here and can not instruct citizens of the country. If it is 6-year-old child, adults surely should scold him and take the cigarette away. But if it is 15-16-year-old teenager, he is adult enough to be accountable for his own actions.
