New York hosts soccer tournament in honor of 20th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan’s independence

Fifth annual soccer tournament dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan’s independence and the anniversary of relations with the United States were held in New York on May 22. The Spokesman for the Kyrgyz Diaspora in the U.S. Urmat Omuraliev reported.

According to him, teams of Kyrgyzstanis living in the U.S. from three states and New York City participated in the competitions. Team from Ohio celebrated the victory, the second place was won by the team from Illinois and team from New York took the second place. “The main goal of the championship is to unite Kyrgyzstanis living in the United States. There are not so many of us here and we are trying to help each other in every possible way,” said the organizer of the tournament Altyn Akhmatov.
