International Football Federation allocates $ 250 thousand

The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) annually allocates $ 250 thousand to the development of the sport in Kyrgyzstan. Valery Chukhrai, FIFA consultant, said at the press conference today.

According to him, 10th anniversary of the start of cooperation of FIFA and the national football federation is celebrated in 2011. There is interaction on several lines. The first of them is Goal program; it is directed to football infrastructure development. Artificial grass and 3 mini-soccer field (plus one in the Jalal-Abad) have been laid in the football center of national football federation in the frameworks of its realization. “In addition to the provided assistance $ 250 thousand for various purposes were allocated under this program. 15 percent of this sum must be aimed at women’s football developing. There is control over the charges,” said Valery Chukhrai.

In addition, a variety courses for national football federation employees are organized in the frameworks of the partnership. The new direction of cooperation is international tournaments. Cup of Hope tournament for girls and Friendship Cup among young men tournament are arranged in the republic at the expense of FIFA. Except the annual grants FIFA allocated to the amount of $ 550 thousand to each federation being its member after winning the world championships in 2006 and 2010. But it's not so much. There is lack of money for football development in Kyrgyzstan. Local football lives only with the help of FIFA subsidies. We need the support of sponsors and the state,” said Valery Chukhrai.
