"Military action in Syria will affect the Kyrgyzstan," theologian Kadyr Malikov said at today's meeting with journalists.
"The defeat of ISIS, taking the Syrian Aleppo and other cities will affect the squeezing of terrorist groups in other countries. And here is the big question, a threat to security in terms of the return of citizens to their republic or in other countries. Today it is known that some of the commanders of the groups are moved to the territory of Western Europe. As for our compatriots, they are more concentrated in Turkey," he said.
"The latest terrorist attack - in a nightclub in Istanbul on December 31. Before that - the murder of Russian Ambassador. This will lead to the fact that the Turkish authorities will intensify operations against ISIS on its territory. This can lead to even greater risks of return of our fellow citizens to Kyrgyzstan on forged passports and by various other ways. It is necessary to consider the situation in the geopolitical context: the main enemy of ISIS and Al Qaeda declared Russia and Iran. And one of the outputs of these countries is the Central Asia," he said.
"Basically, there are risks for the two countries - Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In other countries - Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan - control is tighter," Kadyr Malikov noted.
