Children in Naryn region go to school 4 km on foot in 40-degree frost. It became known today at the session of the Parliament.
MPs appealed to the government and the Ministry of Education with a request to extend winter school holidays in Ak-Talaa region for a month.
This is connected with extreme cold in the region - up to minus 38 degrees Celsius. And the students are forced to go to school on foot. Sometimes schools are situated a few kilometers from their homes.
The government has promised to consider the issue.
