Former speaker of the Parliament Akhmatbek Keldibekov intends to nominate his candidacy for the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, which will be held in the autumn of 2017, the secretariat of Ata-Jurt party reported to 24.kg news agency.
It's noted that the Congress hasn't been held yet, but it is planned to nominate Akhmatbek Keldibekov for the presidential post.
The party stressed that one of the leaders of the newly established opposition bloc Kamchybek Tashiev would speak in support of Akhmatbek Keldibekov.
Another head of the opposition alliance and the head of Butun Kyrgyzstan party Adakhan Madumarov advised to wait for the general congress.
Akhmatbek Keldibekov refrains from commenting on his nomination as the single candidate from the party and the opposition alliance.
