Two fatal cases of rabies have been recorded in Kyrgyzstan in 2015. The press service of the Disease Prevention and Sanitary Inspection Department informed 24.kg news agency.
According to them, the last case was registered in Kara-Suu district of Osh region: on November 1, rabies- infected dog bit animals and local residents in the village of Uchar. "As a result, 2-year-ols girl died in a hospital 10 days later on. The animal has bitten four children, who receive treatment. Their condition is stable," the press service informed.
They added that in mid-2015 there was recorded a death of 72-year-old man in Kara-Buura district of Talas region. Having been bitten by a jackal, he turned for medical help only after clinical manifestation of the disease, when the doctors were not able to provide the necessary aid.
Note, at least four people have died of the infection in the Kyrgyz Republic for the last three years.
