The only candidate for the post of mayor of Bishkek Albek Ibraimov promised to continue the program of Kubanychbek Kulmatov. He said this today to the City Council deputies.
"We are lucky to live and work in Bishkek - the city with a special atmosphere. I was born in Frunze. There were born and grew up my parents, my children. My mother has worked 42 years as a school teacher, my father - more than 30 years at Lenin plant. I would really like us to live in a dynamic, safe and comfortable city. At present, we have established a good foundation for city development projects and programs. Kubanychbek Kulmatov has worked out a program "Bishkek - City of Open Opportunities". It started working and became truly national, aimed at ensuring a comfortable life of citizens. There is often criticism against leadership. But we all see that the mayor's office has done a very great job. I see a lot of professionals in the mayor's office who show good results. I intend to continue working, maintaining this well-coordinated team as much as it is possible," Albek Ibraimov promised.
"Implementing the program, I intend to strengthen the work on budget policy in order to increase revenues and optimize costs. We see that the crisis could move into an active phase, and we will sorely lack the money. Secondly, I will focus on the state of roads for their optimal unloading, parks and recreation areas landscaping. Bishkek is not just a city, it is the capital. Therefore, its architecture and landscape design should serve to forming of a hospitable and beautiful image of Kyrgyzstan," Albek Ibraimov added.
"The fight against corruption also remains a top priority. The most effective way to fight against corruption is democracy and transparency. I am convinced that our city deserves to be clean, safe, bright city of free people," he concluded.
Deputies began the procedure of secret voting without questions to the candidate for the post of the mayor.
