Zelenstroy Municipal Enterprise has received from the Environment Protection Fund 60 million soms to improve irrigation networks in Bishkek. The head of the municipal enterprise Anvar Atantaev announced today at a meeting of the Standing Committee of the City Council on Housing, Fuel, Energy Complex and Transport.
According to him, in 2014 the city has failed to get 47 percent of water. "It could not, but, of course, affected the state of landscaped areas. Emphasis should, in the first place, be put on irrigation. We have held talks and received the first tranche of 60 million. Work on improvement of the network continues. The Environment Protection Fund also provides seedlings. In the fall of 2015, we have laid seedlings (3,000 maples, 8,000 oaks), grafted the hedges. This planting material will be ready in two years. This work has not been conducted previously. What is sold on the market is sold without warranty. Therefore it is better to have our own, to cultivate by ourselves. This should have been done a long time ago and steadily," Anwar Atantaev said.
Zelenstroy report for 2015 is discussed at the meeting.
