Temporary shelters for the homeless will be opened in Bishkek by the cold weather. Social Development Department informed 24.kg news agency.
According to it, under the plan such facilities operate from November 1 till April 1. "But if frosts come earlier, the shelters will be opened sooner. There was announced a tender for the repair of facilities in the Sverdlovsk district on 34, Fere Street. In addition, new bedding is purchased. As for October district, there is a shelter in the territory of the improvement plant, Lenin district- Mercy Center for women and children in difficult situation constantly operates there. Pervomay district has operating year-round Kolomto center," the department reported.
They pointed out that the homeless are provided, in addition to the nights logging, with one hot meal. "One facility is designed for 40-60 people. Total, about 350 homeless use such shelters during the winter," the department added.
The department has no accurate statistics on the homeless people in the capital.
