"World travel agencies paid attention to Kyrgyzstan as a country for tourism after introduction of visa-free regime," the representative of the Association of Tour Operators Elena Kalashnikova informed at the meeting of the interdepartmental committee on tourism development.
According to her, "Great Silk Road" brand of Kyrgyzstan played a great role. "This year it turns 20 years". The entire corridor of the Silk Road is included in the UNESCO heritage," she said.
But, in her opinion, there are some difficulties for foreign tourists. "More than half of the country's territory is closed for tourists, for example, it is necessary to wait for permit to visit "seventhousanders" for a month," Elena Kalashnikova noted.
