Germany and Poland invite Bishkek residents to watch modern movies, the German Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic informs.
According to it, a joint project of the German Embassy, Goethe Institute Almaty and the Polish Embassy in Astana will be held in Bishkek. "Many viewers already know films of outstanding contemporary directors as Volker Schlöndorff and Andrzej Wajda. We will present films of German and Polish filmmakers, who are very successful at their homeland, but probably unknown here. Different genres were chosen, starting with the historical drama, comedy and detective. I would like to mention the educational effect of showing films in the original language (with subtitles in Russian). This applies above all to the students and all those who study the language and culture of these countries," the organizers note.
The movies will be screened at October cinema on October 5-7. Beginning at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Admission is free.
