The National Bank has withdrawn licenses of two exchange offices since the beginning of the year. Press service of the bank reported.
As it was noted, since the beginning of the year there have been checked 68 exchange offices. At least three warnings, 11 orders have been issued, 12 licenses were suspended and two- withdrawn. The violations are connected with improper accounting and misleading presentation of information about the transactions, failure to comply with the requirements of normative and legal acts on cash discipline. During the raids, there were revealed facts of unlicensed activity of exchange bureaus. At least 20 people were fined at 30,000 soms.
"We together with the MPs are promoting a bill to toughen penalties for exchange offices. Document was approved in the first reading. But I still think that the exchange offices should not exist. They can operate at commercial banks. The National Bank has once again developed a bill to ban exchange offices and sent it to the government. Their elimination does not mean that they will disappear. Citizens' access to foreign currency exchange will not be limited. Kyrgyzstan will never give up this principle," Tolkunbek Abdygulov noted.
