The cost of petroleum products will expectedly fall by 2-2.5 soms during February in Kyrgyzstan. Information Support Department of the government's executive office reported.
According to it, the Cabinet discussed the situation on the fuel market and the impact of unified railway tariffs on transit. It is noted that the fuel in the country will fall in price due to the use of unified railway tariffs in the transit of goods through Kazakhstan. Petroleum products will become cheaper in February upon receipt of new batches of oil products.
"According to calculations, a reduction of transportation costs of oil products from Russia to Kyrgyzstan ranged from $ 45 to $ 48 per tonne (depending on the distance from refinery to the boundaries)," the head of Department of Economy and Investments of the Government Nikolay Chuikov said.
He added that there is a steady increase in wholesale prices at the refineries over the past three months on the Russian market of petroleum products, which affected the growth of prices in the local market. As a result, the cost of wholesale batches of petroleum products from October 2016 till January 2017 rose from 10 percent to 18 percent. At the same time, retail prices in the domestic market increased by an average of 11 percent. The volume of fuel supply will be minimal in January, as well as the impact of their wholesale cost on retail prices.
The Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that as of today the main task is to ensure stable prices for petroleum products during the upcoming spring field works. The demand for lubricants for the period is set in the range of about 100,000 tons of diesel fuel and 26,000 tons of gasoline.
