"EEU should bring economic benefits, otherwise it loses its meaning," member of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission on competition and anti-monopoly regulation Nurlan Aldabergenov told today at "Antitrust regulation in the Eurasian Economic Union" international conference.
According to him, for the time of existence of the union the country has managed to reduce prices in many areas. The main example is the reduction of tariffs for roaming. The prices in Kyrgyzstan decreased from 129 soms to 10 soms per minute. This is the largest decrease among EEU countries.
"Prices fell also in the supply of auto repair parts. If previously, the US company supplied engines to Kazakhstan for $ 189,000, and to Russia for $ 134,000, now the American partners have reduced the cost. Apatite concentrate prices also dropped. Earlier Belarus had the highest prices for fertilizers," Nurlan Aldabergenov said.
According to him, "now we are working on parallel imports." "We are becoming dependent on the European countries from which we get, for example, medicines. Price rises along with increase in dollar exchange rate. Parallel import helps to carry out deliveries at the price of manufacturer," the minister said.
