The monetary base of Kyrgyzstan is 80.2 billion soms. This is stated in the monetary review of the National Bank in January-September 2016.
Since the beginning of the year the monetary base of Kyrgyzstan increased by 19.6 percent. Last year, the increase was only 3.2 percent.
The share of currency in circulation amounted to 88 percent. In order to reduce excess liquidity in the banking system, the National Bank held sterilization operations through auctions for the sale of 7-day notes of the National Bank and "overnight" deposits. Due to the 7-day notes of the National Bank from the market seized 2.1 billion soms by means of "overnight" deposits - 7.2 billion soms.
The average daily volume of sterilization operations in January-September 2016 was formed in the amount of 9.3 billion soms.
At the same time from the beginning of the year, net international reserves of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic increased to 118.6 billion KGS (9.3 percent growth). It was affected by transactions in the interbank foreign exchange market, exchange rate difference and other revenues.
The volume of gross international reserves of the National Bank as of the end of September amounted to $2 billion (11.3 percent growth).
