More than a ton of marijuana was found in Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to it, in the course of operational and search activities officers of Jalal-Abad Department of Interior detained 59-year-old resident of Suzak region, who was confiscated 1.5 kilograms of marijuana during personal search.
During the sanctioned searches in Zhalgyz Kaiyn area in Atay village, owned by the detainee, investigators found and seized 2, 700 bales of marijuana with a total weight of 1,118 tones.
Criminal case under Article 246 of the Criminal Code has been initiated. The detainee was placed in the detention center. Investigation is underway.
