It is offered to permit registration of right-hand drive cars, imported to Kyrgyzstan before June 4, 2015. This initiative belongs to the deputy Dastan Bekeshev (SDPK).
He proposed to amend the Law On traffic in the Kyrgyz Republic. These amendments were approved today in the first reading by the parliamentary Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture and Construction.
As Dastan Bekeshev explained, the Law On road traffic was adopted on February 26, 2015, it entered into force on June 3. Because of conflict of law, right-hand drive cars which were imported before June 4, remained unregistered.
As the representatives of the State Customs Service reported, from January 1 to June 3, 2015 there were imported 452 cars (mostly right-hand drive vehicles) to the Kyrgyz Republic. "But which of them are right-hand drive, which are left- we can't say, because we don't fix such information," the State Customs Service explained.
The Committee approved the bill.
