Member of Parliament Natalya Nikitenko urged the government to attend to the fate of working children. She announced it today at a meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Science, Culture and Health Care.
According to her, tens of thousands of children are engaged in hazardous work. People's deputy proposed to raise the issue at a meeting of the Coordination Council under the government.
The meeting participants discussed the amendments to the Labour Protection Law. "There used to be a very effective norm, when unfair and not ensuring safety enterprises could be eliminated on the basis of a court decision. The authorized body - inspection addressed such a petition. Why this article is removed now? Such companies must be held accountable. This is method of influence on unfair employers," Natalya Nikitenko suggested.
Committee members approved the document upon discussion.
