"The next two years we have to learn living without grant assistance, using our own capabilities," President Almazbek Atambayev said at a meeting of the Parliament.
The Head of State took the floor after new members of the Kyrgyz Government and the newly appointed heads of law enforcement bodies of the republic have taken the oath.
The President noted that "the international community does not consider Kyrgyzstan as poor country any more." "We should learn earning enough money to the state budget and learn to live within our means," he said.
According to the President, to reach this goal the members of Parliament have to set up "strict barrier to the adoption of populist decisions and laws." "Projects, which send the whole country into a fever and make serious hole in the state budget shouldn't be adopted anymore," Almazbek Atambaev said.
Kyrgyz President gave the example of neighbors - Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, which build railways and hydroelectric power stations at their own expense, seek funds from the state budget on defense.
